This is Rock Creek and Rock Creek Parkway (on the left) as seen from the Southern side of Massachusetts Ave NW bridge. For some reason it reminds me of Vic'ba (Vitba) River back in Viciebsk, possibly because it also flows in what now is a ravine with tall trees on the banks. For as long as I remember myself as I child, I recall being scared to cross any bridge on Vic'ba because they were incredibly high above the surface. My parents told me that when they were young, the river used to flood some of the lower bridges in the spring. Now, it's just a shallow creek that gave its name to a city over a thousand years ago. I'll post a picture of what Vic'ba looks now, when I get it from a photographer-friend.
